You guys have always been patient with me and I consider you experts in the field of rifles. I was at my favorite gun shop yesterday and a guy brought in a bunch of guns he inherited to be appraised. All antiques, rabbit ear stuff, a couple of trap doors etc. Of course, he has no intrest in them.
The most interesting one, I can only call a twist action. You twist the barrel to one side to eject the cartridge and twist it the opposite direction to pick up a new cartridge from the tube magazine in the stock. He called it a Kentucky Militia Rifle. I can't find any info on it. Do you fellas have any idea what it may be? I'll try and get some pics tomorrow. Sorry it's OT, but some of you guys know the really obscure stuff.

Triplett & Scott - Civil War issue. But you twist all one way - the cartridge is ejected as it turns to pick up the next round - @ about 90 it ejects, @ 180 it picks up the next round, then swing it back. Triplett & Scott .....and it's a rimfire!.

Now that is interesting! Why the sling swivel on top of the buttplate?

The wood was also prone to cracking on these - stress on it from the twisting action. Some women live in fear of showing up at a party with the same dress as someone else there. The male version of this is showing up at deer camp with the same rifle as someone else. This is very unlikely to happen if you buy this rifle and use it as your deer rifle in the fall

That's it! Thanks for the link. Very interesting rifle. The magazine cover spring is week or missing and it stays slightly open. As far as looks it looks about like the one in the link.
