Have to 100% agree....I use WD only for cleaning and don't leave it on the gun especially in the action. On something like a 1911 slide, I spray the inside of the slide, brush it down with an old tooth brush and then spray it all out with Shooter's Choice Crud Buster or whatever it is called.

Found out a long time ago that WD doesn't make the best lubricant going. I use WD mainly because it can be bought cheap by the gallon and has a lot of uses other than firearms. Would love to just use Ballistol but it's kinda expensive....

The only ones who have mentioned anything about using it for actions are the ones claiming it should never be used on guns. I just mentioned that it works to remove powder fouling from nickel plating, which didn't strike me as a controversial opinion at the time.
