I followed Bob's advice a few years ago and order barrels in pairs.
I certainly would order from the barrel maker I wanted, regardless of time, instead of saving a few weeks by ordering from someone with less lead time.

5-7 weeks for a trigger, 2 months for a reamer, 4 months for a stock, 7 months for a barrel and depending on the 'smith, 6-12+ months to have her all put together....

Yeah, I'd say the shooting industry is doing quite well too..
