what kind of rifle are you going to be using in 5.56? More importantly what is going to be your twist rate in the barrel?

I take it you're asking about factory loaded ammunition as opposed to handloads?

Federal Fusion 62gr, Speer GoldDot 64gr, MK318, any ammo with Barnes TSX's, Winchester 64gr PP, etc.

Twist rate is 1:8 twenty inch barrel. Yes I prefer factory loaded.

Then you should be good to go with any of the heavy wt. factory offerings mentioned.

Barnes VOR-TX with a 55gr TSX would be my first choice.

60 gr partition or 75 gr AMax out of the 8 twist. Also, the 62 Barnes seems like a good candidate.

I've heard good things about this round.

All copper Open Tip, 2730 FPS
Designation: 70 grain Barnes TSX-BT (Triple Shock)
recommended twist rate 1-8 or faster
Excellent barrier and hunting round

I took a decent size buck with a 63gr Sierra SP a few months back.
