Did Marlin ever make a short, ported 41 mag like the 1894P or 1894 CP? If so, I need to find one, since I've become addicted to the little ported guns. Not sure why, but I like them. Thanks in advance, Old70

I only see porting on a 41 mag making the rifle louder.
As far as recoil I see no benifit

No ported 1894's in 41 mag.

Old70, I bought a new Marlin 1894S in .41 Mag., in 1987 and have been using it ever since. (It goes very well with my S&W 57 .41 Mag., when just "bustin' the boonies" out in the mountains.)

I've never seen any need for ports on a .41 Mag. rifle, as I can't think of any advantage to it.

(Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the MagnaPort job I had them do many years ago on my old Ruger 77 in .338 W. Mag. Now that DOES make a difference when shooting off the bench! )

Thanks for the responses, Looking at it from more of a 'complete the collection' angle. I have the rest of the short-ported that they have made, except for the 444P Outfitter, which I am looking for. Thanks again, Old70.
