Has anybody used this bullet? What was your load and accuracy? How does it perform on vermin? I just picked up a box today and plan on trying them next time I load a batch. Just wondering what anybody else has experienced with them.

Alliant's AR Comp.. found it surprisingly very accurate... and pretty explosive on ground squirrels..I was impressed with it.. Speer did a good job..

is all the 50 gr TNT is in 22 caliber..

Sounds good, I've been using BLC(2) with 40gr. V-Max. I'll see how it does with this bullet. Thanks for your information.

I've already burned thru a couple of boxes...was not disappointed...

BLC2 is a fine powder for that application also..

I was just impressed that AR Comp was actually even more accurate than a batch of highly accurate standbys... supposed to be Temp INsensitive RL 15, but it gives me more accuracy... in both the 204 and 223...with the 22.250 to boot!~

I've only used BLC(2) in my .204 and that's what I'll be trying with this Speer bullet.

Ha! I have knocked a few critters over that would bring admonishment by many campfire members with my 204. It is a great caliber. If game larger than coyotes becomes a consideration the 45gr spire point, while not as flat shooting as the 204 deserves, can be impressive. Then again, the largest buck on my wall met his match to a 32gr vmax. I had not planned on shooting deer that day, but you can't pass up opportunity!

Do they make a TTSX in .17....? DAT would be the shizzle!! laugh

Till then, you might have to 'go big or go home' with a .20 cal or even the .224 eek

They dont kick as bad as folks say....

Tom,

You might want to check out the 32-grain tipped Varmageddon as well as the TNT. The Varmageddon has about the same BC and costs less, at least according to the quick net-search I did.

I'm headed to the Miles City area next week for a thorough field-test of Varmageddons from .17 to .224. Have shot a few PD's with the .224 55 (got some last fall and tried 'em then) but not nearly enough for a truly scientific report. Can state they do shoot just as accurately as Ballistic Tips, sometimes a little more so.

I just picked up a box of the 32 grain VARMAGEDDONS tipped version at Sportsmans last friday, first box I have seen on the shelf of any of those bullets...right around $13.00..per 100..

it may be just my 204, which is a Ruger Ultralight Take Off barrel, so we are not talking a high volume custom shooter here...

but the most accurate bullet for that one has hands down been the Bulk Mid South 34 grain HP... as I understand those are left over or seconds from Nosler making the 34 HP for Win 204 ammo...

sure shoot good in mine, that's for sure!

I've been wanting to try the Varmageddons too. A buddy has used them in his .204 and says they are super accurate. Didn't see any when I was at Sportsmans. Need to go shopping.

Let me know what you think...I got a non-windy day on the Hi-line and ran some 32 Vmax through their paces...most impressive gopher round Ive ever shot....as close to a death ray as we will ever get...and as you said before the POI is so close to the heavier bullets, it doesnt matter much...so I'm thinkin' theres more 32 grainers in my future...

Ohhhh and BTW, the guy that owns one of my fave gopher spots on the front just spotted a grizzly on his place ( where we shoot...) so it is now officially the only place I go where I have to watch for both rattlesnakes and griz grin

With the higher BC and velocity, the 32 tipped Varmaggedon will drift less in the wind than the 39 TNT.

I've got a gopher place like that on the Front as well. Couple years ago the FWP "neutralized" a stock-killing grizzly there via .300 Weatherby injection....

I'll definately give the Varmageddons a try. Don't have grizzlies to worry about in this corner of Idaho. That 32gr. Varmageddon might be a little light for them.

I might be havin' to haul the "Big" gun....the .223 when I go shooting gophs in grizzly country...

.204 would be stunt shooting on griz....
