Local 3D shoots, and a public fixed target range with a seperate walking range. I'm inside city limits, so backyard shooting is tempting, but a big no-go in my area.
I haven't made the jump to my own 3D deer target, not sure that I ever will. The layered blocks work for me when I'm in the field, or the Rinehart 18-in-1.

I use an 18-1 block target setup in my backyard. Been shooting that thing for going 4 years now it's probably got another 2-3 years left in it. I like to toss it around the yard and shoot it sometimes, it help me with my yardage estimation and helps build confidence in my shooting.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

I have a 3-D deer target I shoot at occasionally, most of my practice is the center of a paper plate on hay bales.

I have an old Block Fushion, the one before they went to the stupid little animal designs. I loved that thing, and would buy 2-3 of them in a hearbeat if I could still find them. Mine couldn't stop an arrow anymore so I recently purchased a Reinhart RhinoBlock XL. I hate it for a couple reasons. One, it's very hard to see my arrows impact on that target. Black arrows against a black target suck. If it was brown, problem solved...Two, the two sides with the replaceable center section are horribly designed, at least IMO. The aiming points are too busy, I have trouble focusing.
And, I BH tuned two bows this weekend and I can see the Reinart isn't going to hold up to repeated BH use like the Block did. So now I'm back in the market for a new target.

What is the best deer target that you are using to get ready for next year? Gophers.
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

The Blob is without peer for broadheads. http://blobtargets.com/ For field points, a Morrell outdoor bag is hard to beat.

Home-made layered carpet target (40x40" or so) plus a foam cabela's block for BH. Have two more portables to drag to the deer stands for pre-season practice.

Been using BLOB for 2 years now and holding up pretty well. Great target for broadheads.
