IMHO, Braun is the best of the electrics.

I've used a cordless Norelco 7810XL for about a year now. Better razor than the corded Norelco I retired, don't feel the need to use a blade as it gives a pretty close shave. Battery charge lasts well over a month with daily use.

I've never had a shave with an electric that lasted more than maybe 8 hrs. A blade shave will last much longer. Now that I am in my late sixties my beard and hair has turned totally white, I find that a disposable blade shave and haircut in the shower is the way to keep control of the issue.

I've been shaving in the shower for 40 years. It's the easiest way. My wife asks how I can do it without a mirror but I just tell her that my nose has been in the same place my whole life & I don't need a mirror to find it.
My wife's a hair stylist so I get the cuts for free.

Had a Braun but unless your face is bone dry, forget it. And forget about skipping a day.

I don't shave my face as I have a full beard. I do ,however shave my head completely. Shave every other day with a Braun Cruzer 3. Perfectly smooth in 4 minutes. Blade and comb last over a year and I clean it thoroughly between shaves. Bought on sale for less than $70. It's the single cutter head model. Imagine the more expensive models would be even better. The head on this one can be cleaned with water.

Any Norelco cordless will do the rough work or the twice daily maintenance, 6AM and 6PM. For a closer shave, use the Norelco and finish with a Gillette Fusion, wet or dry, to get smooooth.

I used to shave by using a old badger hair shaving brush, Williams shaving soap in a mug, and single edge Schick injector razor. Great comfortable shaves. Then I grew a beard. In 2007 I had to have neck surgery so I shaved my beard off. Bought a razor with dual blades in disposable cartridges. That sucked, almost changed my NICKname to - you guessed it - Nick. My skin has become too sensitive for a blade razor.
Been using the Norelco three head since. Shaves me as close as the blade, even closer if I use William's Lectric Shave or one of its clones.

I use a Norelco triple head razor. Mine is the basic model without all the adjustment. I have had at least three over the years. You have to get used to either blade or electric. Be careful with an electric. You can get brush burn or rash at first. Someone else mentioned, your face needs to be dry. I usually shower and let my skin dry before I shave.

Was using Braun for quite awhile. Switched to Panasonic last year. You can even use it with cream if you want. It shaves just as close as a blade for me in a lot less time. Panasonic ES8243A

I started with a Remington electric when I was 16, & have used various iterations of the same some 25 years since. They used to make a big deal about being American-made, but I'm guessing that's no longer the case. Maybe Wahl is?
I'll use a blade if I've missed several days, but it's never as close as the electric for me. Could be that my face has been "trained" for electics. I use 'Lectric Shave beforehand, because: 1) Dad always did 2) It makes the shave closer & far more comfortable 3) My wife loves the smell
It would be neat if you could try out shavers like you can pistols at a gun range.
