my coworker's dog dragged it up. We live in upstate SC. I think I know what it is, but I need 'independent confirmation.'

Psalm 19:14-May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

If I had to guess I'd say it looks like a cottonmouth, but that's just a guess.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

never actually seen a hognose serpent, but that doesn't appear to have a diamond pattern that even mocassins 'sport.'

+1 [color:#3333FF]Eastern Hognose Snake.

They imitate about 4 different snakes..One of their tricks is to flatten out their head and try to look like a poisonous snake. If that doesn't work, they'll roll over on their back, open their mouth and play dead. Pretty funny to see..

Harmless and beneficial to have around.

Have moved 2 of them out of the yard the past couple of years. The hiss they do will cause your skin to crawl a little and they look mean...but as soon as you touch them they go belly up. You can try to roll them back and they belly up again. Then puke and crap......I try not to irritate them that much, I just get them out of the yard so they don't become the dog's chew toy. I've never seen one try to strike.

There's a bunch of different kinds, many of which have a different look to them depending on location.

Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money but we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money. What's interesting is the first group WORKED for their money but the other group didn't.

Hognose; had several as pets growing up. They love toads; not a constrictor....they swallow their prey live. Very doscile.....never had one that offered to bite; neat snake..
