Can get my hands on a Savage model 1899 250-3000 serial 1954xx tapped with weaver scope for 450$( hope pictures comes from seller soon) and would like to have opinions on the rifle by anyone but maybe especially from people in Canada for the price (can probably get for 400$). Seller says its in very good condition. Kinda ignorant of these rifles but seems cool! Thank-you!!!

if the bore is good 450 aint bad but 400 is better,if you can check it out before you buy put a shell in the chamber and see how loose it is,wiggle room .i have had them where the chamber is to big at the base . if it is to remote ,get a 3 day inspection peroid.

I'm not sure of the exchange rates north of the St Lawrence but that would be a good value shooter in NY state. It is a model 250-3000 takedown

Being tapped for a scope knocks it permanently into shooters class. If bore is still good and no other major flaws such as cracks in wood, refinished stock etc at tang it would sell quite easily for $450 at an Ontario gunshow. Lots of people are looking for good 250-3000 shooters.
