Wow! Fantastic pics. Saw my first aerial Corsair at the McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst airshow in May. To have four thundering by is too cool. Have yet to see a P-38 in person, but it will happen. Thanks for posting.

Something about an F4-U just grabs me. I would love to fly in one!

That guy has some great skills. Would have been a great show but might have been hot.

Many thanks for posting this, I wish I coulda been there! I love those old war-birds, particularly the P-47 Jugs. Matter of fact, I just finished a book about them, "Hell Hawks", by Robert f. Dorr & Thomas Jones.
I especialy loved the pics of the M-2 Halftrack. My Dad drove one of them (hauling a mortar crew) from the Hedge Rows of Normandy to the Elbe River in the 2nd Armored Division in WWII. He told me of the nights he spent in the ring mount, holding that .50 cal, scared 1/2 to death.

I've been there a couple of times. It amazed me to see a P38 parked next to a B25. They are about the same size.

If you ever get the chance, go to the Air Force Museum in Dayton, it's worth the trip, all by itself (otherwise, I wouldn't set foot in Ohio voluntarily d:^) ) More neat stuff than you can imagine in that place. It's amazing just how SMALL a ME-109 is, for example, compared to it's opponent aircraft........
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

I'll just toss this in here. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/0...-from-baltic-sea-floor/?intcmp=obnetworkThey've found a Stuka in the Baltic Sea that they're working to recover. As a kid growing up in Chicago seeing the Stuka hanging in the Museum of Science and Industry was always a treat. I do recall one year when it fell from the ceiling when the muesum was closed. Bet that made a noise! Breaking news: Hmm this article says it's a JU-88. Almost as interesting. http://news.yahoo.com/wwii-plane-wreck-not-stuka-larger-ju88-131031484.html

reminds me of the small air shows in Ashtabula Ohio Just the right size. We would park our cars along the runway. And they would give ( sell ) rides in war birds. We were given a flight in a B-17 there!
me and the kids sat under the wings of a B 25 to watch the show.
A huge T storm ( complete with a twister ) would blow through and cool things off and then pass into PA and the clouds made great back drops for the later flights.
If you ever get a chance, GO!
