Howdy, when I introduced myself I mentioned that a used rat was purchased. It got the job done on Monday in PA.
42 grs. of 4350 with a 85 gr. XLC, shoots about 1 1/2".
Recovered weight was 81.2 grs.
I feel I was rewarded this buck for sharing my stand area with a late comer that posted 80 yds away and passing on two does that were probably bigger than this buck.
Just wanted to share.

reminds me of my first buck, needed to pass a batch of does before he finally showed, a basket rack eight same as yours. I was just busting with pride. my partner never did see any of the does I passed down to him that morning.

now I'll have to wait till next year to take a deer with my new 99. thinking 130gr. Barnes Triple X handloads...

I shot it low in the neck to the off shoulder as it came towards me. The off shoulder was really damageed.
