Hey Buschy...look me up when you come down.
Maybe I'll be able to bring the kids down to watch a game.

I spent the morning with my dad at the Back to the 50's Car Show. He came down for the swap meet but mostly to get away from stress for a while since he can't go into his house yet. He said there is as much stuff in his yard as there was before. But 1/2 of his was swept away and replaced with someone else's.

I need more thoughts and prayers from y'all tomorrow. My mom is having heart surgery at 0800.
One day soon I'll be able to breathe....jeesh. Lots of stuff happening in my family the last few months.

Here is a pic of the basement on friday afternoon. It came up some more, or went down to that point at some time. They could see the mud line up the wall just below the floor joists. [/quote]

Tom , I don't post a lot , but your parents and the others affected by this have been in our thoughts and prayers. Will extend another round for your Mom for tomorrow .

thanks Phil.
Brent,
Yep. Pretty much anything down there was lost I'm sure. Thankfully, it wasn't a bunch but it was big ticket items like water heater, furnace washer/dryer, deep freeze, etc.
They were able to move some stuff upstairs before it got real bad.

I agree. My BIL and dad pumped some out today, slowly. They're going to do more tomorrow. Lots of clean up this weekend. If any of you have tips on this type of clean up, I'm all ears. I'm bringing my power washer(gas) and a pile of shovels and brushes. I'm assuming there is some sort of chemical to clean the basement with? I'm more concerned about getting the house livable more than the rest. He told me the good news is there is as much stuff in the scrap pile as there was before. the bad news is, it's not his stuff. I playground showed up in the yard, barrels, a lot of trees and brush. They lawn is gone, replaced with silt. I'm sure it's under there somewhere.

Hang in there Tom, I've been through it. Its a long process of cleaning. When we were able to get to our house we had 5ft on our main floor, it was horrible. ending up losing the whole house. Alot of pressure washing, u can use bleach but after the flood here i've heard not too in the house. get fans circulating as soon as you can all over.

Check with a professional cleaning company Tom. Mold will be a major concern and they can tell you what to do to kill it before it gets a toe hold.
