Stan in SC

No, she's having a Cardio Ablasion(sp?). Where they have to scar her heart. Her heart goes into A-fib, where it beats really, really, fast. Sometimes for no reason. She has tried meds, and other less invasive surgeries, and this is one of the final ways to stop it.

My FIL had the same thing done, but he also needed a pacemaker and a defibulator put in. She doesn't need that yet. Hopefully, not at all.

Prayers sent Tom. Man I can't imagine the stress you guys are under.

Let us know if we can help in anyway.

Great pics Dave! How far away from the bird were you? Normally those cream chitters don't stick around too long when humans are nearby.

I'd guess 35 yards or so.

And of course it was Pam that got the pictures.

Something clever here.

Great pics Pam!

Tom I hope everything goes well for your mom. Those pics are not good, amazing how fast everything can change. Hope cleanup is not too lengthy of a process.

Tom, I have never seen keg window boxes. Sound cool.

It did go well. My step dad talked to me last night and said things went well.

I talked to her this morning. She will most likely go home tomorrow, but maybe this afternoon. She's a tough cookie, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is today. Of course she's most concerned about playing with the kids on our vacation in a bit over a week. crazy

They're doing some clean up now, but Gophergunner (Jeff) is coming up and a few other guys from the fire here, Miles58, Nasqam, and maybe more, plus I got some boys in Duluth coming down to help out. That goes to show you what a great place the campfire is. Full of wonderful folks, and I'm a bit overwhelmed by it truthfully. This is the second time in a few years folks have come to help my family out, and I really don't know what to say or how to repay them...

In the hospital with mom & dad for dad's 4th chemo treatment. He has not been feeling very good lately (the last couple weeks). Very tired and it feels like he has a constant hangover, eventhough he has not had a drink for about 4 months. Hope he starts feeling better soon.

That is beacuse I've just invented them. Patent pending of course. I'm awaiting final approval from the camp boss before I make em. grin

I might as well spill the beans on the keg window box.

I think we could be well served by a keg at the camp. My thought was this.

make a planter box type thingy that can hold a keg. It will have to be stout enough to hold ice if it is a warm season, or we could insulate the heck out of it. (Developments haven't gone that far yet) We'll need to run a line into the cabin, like the gas lights, so we can run the hose in. I'm thinking small pvc, so it can be capped when not in use to keep undesirables like bees and skeeters out.

The reason I was thinking window box, is becasue we'll have to pump the pumper at some point. That way we can crack the window, reach out and do it, and close the window.

I think we need two, but could get by with one that could be moved later. It could be by the kitchen or table. By the sink might be good. Then when the bar/BS room is complete it could be moved over, or add another. One would prolly work tho, now that I think about it.

The chemo will wear you down. It's tough, tough, stuff but it works. I hope he is feeling better too. Tell him I'm thinking about him.

I remember my uncle saying the same thing, feeling like he had a hangover. My dad and I almost got kicked out of the hospital in Duluth in 1988. My uncle was in there with Leukeima, getting treatments. The Vikes were on and their deal was watching the game together with pizza and a brew.

The worlds best pizza is at a bar in Superior, WI called Shamrock. My family has been going there for over 40 years. So we picked up a Shamrock pizza and Pa got a bottle of Blackberry brandy and we went to see Rick and watch the game.

We got it into the room and got busted when the nurse was doing her rounds. Rick sweet talked the nurse to let us stay and it obviously picked up his spirts (in more way than one).

Get better Uncle Dusty!

Tom - a CO2 tank and tap system will eliminate the pumping so you can save your energy for more important things like tipping the glass back and stuff.

It is indeed. How realistic is that at da camp? I've never set one up.

Very realistic. smile Google CO2 keg tap. The best part is that besides not having to pump the keg, your beer will not go flat with CO2.
