I notice this weekend that J&G sales has a bunch of surplus CZ 83 for sale for $239. I thought it might be a fun pistol to play around with. Does anyone have experience with this pistol or any thoughts?

I got one of them from the same place when they came in. Just like the cz82 basically except the 83 is .380.
Nice little pistols, and they shoot well.
bigger mag capacity than the makarov.
easty to take down and they are accurate little guns.

I have the CZ 82, 9x18 version. Same pistol. I think they're a great pistol for the money. Built like a tank, accurate, good handling and completely reliable. I carry mine a lot and wouldn't mind having a second one.

i don't know if you can get them anymore, but through gunboards.com i found a guy in Hungary if i remember right, or at least thats where they were made, that was selling some wooden grips for those pistols that were just outstanding.
I got basically to cherrypick them, and the 82 was really surprising at how accurate it was upon it's first outing. So much so i sprung for starline brass, hornady bullets, and the dies, and moulds to cook up my own.
I probably will go in J&G over the rodeo week coming up and am a little afraid too. There are some new limited production double stack 9mm in there that they are selling for a pretty reasonable price. The polish98 mag if i remember right.
