Just because the sides of the objective hang over it's belt doesn't make the center of the lens any closer to the barrel.......I think the difference of effect on view caused by barrel heat would be similar to the other advantages of this new design..........imaginary !

You're reading my mind. You just described my dream scope.

I have nothing to prove. A 200 pound, 240 yard quick shot hangs on my wall and stares at me through glassy eyes. There are dozens of others who wish I had been at the range instead.

Might I assume it was the 5" sight height, that glazed those eyes over,or might it have been somethin' else?

That's what I thought.......................

I thought you were trying to prove the merits of a high mounted scope.........

I don't blame you for side stepping that one, a guy has got to choose his battles........

Makes a nice carry handle though, rifle in one hand, lunch pail in the other hand. Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to hunt we go!

Having read many negative comments I expected the ugliest toad... Now that I have seen a picture I am puzzelled by these views : I find it quite good looking.

As far as function, of course one can live without a lower mount, so what ? Is it not the same for every progress made since the dawn of times ?

I like the looks and I like the concept, congratulations to the Leupold designers.

Is it too ambitious or too naive to look for an honest politician? Or simply a useful one?
