I just bought a Varmint model in 22.250. The rings that come with it work well for the Weaver Classic 4-16x42 scope I have on it now but am looking to up grade to a 6.5-20 Burris with a 50mm objective. Will switching to Warne high rings for the Tikka get me the clearance I need or would I be better going to a picatinny rail with high rings. Thanks

I have used Ded Nutz one piece units on two of my T3's with complete satisfaction. I would look at one of those in medium height flavor for what you are wanting to do.

Warne has dimensions on their spec sheet (you may need to download it from their site).

I've used Warnes and liked them on my Tikka. I also used an EGW 20MOA rail or few with picatinny/weaver rings with satisfaction on other Tikkas. Lately I just use DNZ.

I also have DNZ's on two T3s. Very solid set up. You can check out the mount specs/dimensions on their websight.

You don't need high's. I have Talley Lightweight--Lows on a couple, and NightForce Lows on a pic rail on others.

50MM objective works with most Lows on Tikka's.

Thanks for the replies, looking into all of them. This is one heck of a good shooting rifle, pretty plain Jane, not real pretty but it sure does perform!

They're also portable unlike some other varmint rifles. I have a love / hate relationship with mine. grin

I would go with DNZ for the T3. I like Talley on most others.

Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44 clears on mine with the LOW DNZ mount and it is a short scope so the objective is right over the large diameter of the chamber.

If in doubt the medium will work for sure.

Just a heads up, after contacting DNZ, they recommended the high ring mount because of the large overall width of the Burris E1 6.5-20. That's what I went with and thankfully so, there is only about 3/32's of clearance between the bell and barrel.
