I had this rifle built last year by my local gunsmith, Michael Rowe of Tupelo Custom Weapons. I took him a ss Model Seven in 7mm-08 caliber and had this .308 built. The rifle looks and handles great, but I've realized I honestly have no need for this rifle given my other "go to" hunting rifles. I'm looking to find this fine hunting rifle a new home. Michael shot it for groups and showed me two 3 shot groups sub MOA. If I can find the target I'll post it. I have only shot the rifle 8 shots with a swab in between shots - that was a hurried attempt to sight-in the scope and hunt one afternoon with my son.
I have not shot the gun for groups.

Here's what I have in the build:
Model Seven SS 7mm-08 rifle purchased used: $600
McMillan Hunter grey edge stock 13.5" LOP with ss studs: $550
Shilen Select/Match Grade Barrel SS #3 contour 1:10 twist: $323
True/blueprint action and install barrel: $300
Bedding: $200 (action is bedded and barrel at fore-end bedded)
Crown barrel: $50
Sniper Grey Cerakote (action/barrel/bottom metal): $150
DNZ one-piece scope mount: $60
Zeiss Conquest 6.5x20x50mm with target turrets: $800

TOTAL: $3,033 (not including all taxes/shipping for above items)

Additional information: 1" Decelerator pad on the stock. Rifle balances on front action screw as scoped. Weight as scoped is 8 lbs 0 oz (scope is approximately 22oz). Barrel is approximately 22" from lug. I don't recall the exact manufacturer of lug, but it is not the factory lug and is 1/4" ( I think PTG ~$28). Factory trigger re-worked. Breaks crisp with no creep around 2.5-3#.

bump for am crowd

Found the target from gunsmith. I believe he shot Corbon TTSX 168 grain ammo. Top group is around 5/8" and bottom group is a hair less than 3/8" using the tape in pic.

Good guy bump. I've seen this gun and it's really nice. Could be a perfect lightweight do-all rig.

As Dober says, grab it and go fill up an Ark.

Yep, bare rifle is probably a little less than 6.5 lbs. Fighting the urge to go shoot it, since taking it out of the safe and handling it a bit. But if I did, it'd probably go back in the safe.

Don't let any smudges in the pictures fool you...this rifle is pristine inside and out...brand new build. I did not clean the gun after my last shot and one afternoon in a boxstand. There are no marks on this rifle. I'm even willing to refund buyer's money minus shipping if unsatisfied after three day inspection period, granted rifle is returned in same condition as shipped. I'm done after this last attempt to sell...it'll go back in safe until deer season. Thanks for looking.

Can you take a picture from the top showing the inlet of the stock with the #3 contour, and also specify the length of exposed shank, including lug, in front of the action? I have the same stock with another maker's #3 on a short 700 and am leery based on the amount of meat left in that stock... Thanks!

Here's some quick cellphone pics...hope this is what you're looking for. The length from action to start of barrel taper (shank plus lug) is 1 3/4". Sorry pics aren't better quality, but family is out of town with our camera.
