Just saw this...

[color:#3333FF]Link...!

Friend and former UNC President Bill Friday has said Andy Griffith has died, while the Dare County Sheriff's Department confirms that they rushed to his home in North Carolina this morning. The actor was best known for The Andy Griffith Show, Mayberry RFD, and Matlock and for playing Larry "Lonesome" Rhodes in Elia Kazan's A Face in the Crowd. [WITN News]

Anyone else remember a made-for-tv movie called "Pray for the Wildcats" where he was the leader of some bad guy desert dirt-bikers?

"No Time for Sergeants" is classic Griffith, too. Funny guy. R.I.P.

Didn't like his politics, either, but he was funny.

RIP. I have always enjoyed the black and white seasons of the Andy Griffith Show. Not so much after they switched to color. Andy's character totally changed after that, for some reason, and Barney had left.

I loved Andy Griffith and all his shows , but lost all of my respect for the man after he became a ragging Liberal in his later years.

I've tried really hard to pretend I didn't know about his politics of late and will use his passing as an effort to redouble those efforts.
"No Time for Sargeants" was one of my dad's all time favorite movies. I believe that is the hardest I ever saw him laugh. smile For that reason alone, even though I pretty much enjoyed all his works, may you rest in peace Mr. Griffith. Another fond childhood memory suffers the harsh bite of mortal reality. frown

Too bad, but Ron Howard is picking up his Lib-mantra.

These guys become rich from Hollywood, then they become liberals who know better how to spend my small income.

I won't miss that at all, I'm sorry to say.

Still, the early Mayberry was a great place; I wish we could go back there as a nation.

Ron Howard must be about the last one alive from that show.

I'm a big Andy Griffith Show fan, but only the black and whites. The later ones were terrible.

FRIP Mr. Griffith.

Also like his musical production with Brad Paisley? "Waitin' on a Woman"? [there were never truer words spoken in the history of mankind]
