Dear all I have attempted to disassemble the bolt on my 75 but turned it the wrong way (anti-clockwise if the bolt shroud is nearest your body) and it has effectively locked. I can't seem to rotate it back to the original position. Any help very appreciated. Many thanks JB

I suggest a small piece of leather to pad the jaws and some vice grips to grab the cocking piece. Pull it back and rotate to the desired postion. Hooking ones sear on a bench and hoping it will hold seems a bit unprofessional to me.

Many thanks both.
Yes placing the cocking piece on the edge of a work bench worked perfectly.
Thank you .

Hooking ones sear on a bench and hoping it will hold seems a bit unprofessional to me. On a wood bench what would it hurt? I have a steel plate that I clamp on the edge of the bench and do the Remington bolts that way. I have never ever had a problem. Vice Grip doesn't belong near a rifle. BTW I am not a professional gunsmith nor aspire to be such but I have owned a few Sako 75's and know how little effort it takes to move that cocking piece.
