A good friend is putting together a project rifle that I have been thinking about for some time.Unfortunately my present state of health doesn't allow me any long term projects.Remington 700ss SAUM action with a Wyatt box,and a #3 Kreiger chambered .350 Rem Mag,finished at 22".To start it'll sit in a SAUM Ti stock, and probably end up in an Edge.It will be the match to the 6.5 Rem Mag that Greydog built for me last year.and I'm looking forward to seeing it,I'm sure it will be a thumper. Sound like a fun project. I'm kind of a fan of .35s, and I'd like to play with a .350 RM some day.

Did something almost exactly the same.... Shot wonderfully and was a joy to shoot. Pointed like a shotgun and hit like a dump truck..

I actually had a similar rifle. 700 classic in a Ti stock. It bucked and kicked every time. lol

Never painful though.

And I have it now. Mounted in a McMillan Compact painted Olive. Wears Talley Low rings with a Leupold VX-III 1.75-6. Going to have the barrel cut to 18 1/2 and have the sights re-installed.

What ? What ! My hearing is terrible. Everybody has to repeat what they say. You don't think that's a good idea.

I put one together very similiar to the one the OP describes. It was a stainless 300 SAUM 700 action with a King 22" barrel in 350 Rem Mag. I had it in an LVSF stock (believe it) for a bit and then in a B&C and sold it to a guy near the OP's location who put it in a McMillan I believe, as I got the B&C back from him.
Very nice handling little thumper it was.

I'd never go shorter than 20" on a 350 Mag....and 22" is better.

Here are the parts for Monashee's "Thumper". I dropped by his place last night and we pooled up the accumulated parts into the shipping hard case and off it went today. This is his brainchild and I can't wait to see him hold it (and maybe even Lord willing shoot the thing). Greydog is a great guy and one of the better smiths of whose rifles I have owned and held. Its best he builds the sister to the 6.5 as well eh?
I weighed the components and did the calculating last night. It'll weigh 7lbs 9oz with the VX3 2.5-8 its going to wear.
Monashee's got the brass, dies, TAC and 200gr Barnes, and I'll bring the RL15, Fed 215M primers and some 225gr Partitions. Great start for some load development!

Don't know why anyone in their right mind would turn a new 7mmSAUM into a turd lobber .350RM, it's a giant step backward.

.350 RM on the left, .350 WSM on the right, with bullets seated to fit their respictive magazines.

I already have a 7SAUM that shoots lights out.My 6.5RM is on a SAUM action that I got for a stupid cheap price, and Rem338Win's .350RM is on a .300SAUM action he got cheap as well.I wouldn't get rid of the 7SAUM I have for anything although it makes me question why I keep my .280AI.Ballisticlly they are peas in a pod. I have a great idea for that .358 Bored Barrel... and Toad is on it as well demonstrated in that last pic and to the right grin .

jOs4, I like the 7-WSM, but SA housing something like the 358-WSM is certainly not a step backwards.

Cause I've had enough of the other vanilla out there and want some chocolate. So when I am chasing Grizzlies or 65" moose here would I rather have a 140gr at 3150fps or a 225gr at 2750?
Go shoot another 120 whitetail from a tree stand junior.

That's some kind of nice Toad! I'm giving some thought to have Rocky stick my 338 WSM barrel back on my M70 with the Edge handle on it. For some reason or another my 300 WSM tube has plain gone stupid on me.

Then I'd stick a 6x36 with dotz or CDS on top. Thoughts Toad?
