What's your favorite powder in the AR with 50 and 55 grain bullets? Are some cleaner than others? This will be primarily for coyotes.
Also, is it beneficial to use plastic tipped bullets to prevent tip damage upon chambering?

I use H335. I've found bits of plastic on my barrel extension, so I gotta figure the plastic damages easier than gilding metal.

24.1 grains of H322 pushing a 55 grain Sierra Gameking at 2807fps out of a 16 in bbl. Dropped a 6 ft black bear in his tracks last month with a single shot. Second vertabre back from the skull.

TAC is clean burning and gets good velocity while giving great accuracy. H335 has been impressive velocity wise and is pretty accurate too.
55gr NBT's are the bullets I used.

27grs of 748 lit buy a CCI450 primer under a 52gr Speer HP has worked well for me. Anything in the 25-27gr range is usually a good place to start when using 50-55gr bullets in the 223.
I don't drink or Smoke. I spend my money on gunpowder and gasoline.

Is anyone using military brass? If so, do you have to reduce powder charge from a commercial brass load?
I'll be working up a load for a 16" barrel AR probably using military brass and either 55 Winchester SPs or Hornady 55 Vmax bullets. I've got some old AA 2230 that I plan to use up first.

I've been using 27.0grs of BLC-2 in Lake City brass with Winchester 55gr FMJBT. Has been very reliable and pretty clean shooting in my ARs

Have a DPMS Lo Pro upper with standard lower and trigger and shot 1" groups with 26.5gr Varget and 55gr Sierra FMJ BT at 200 yards. Have a 5x15 Bushnell 3200 on it.
MAGA! This is the way!

I personally like the Hornady 60 gr V-max with Varget in my AR'S
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

With 50gr 26gr H-335, with 55gr 25gr H-335. I've used those charges with both v-max, varmint nightmares, win bulk varmint bullets and rem fmj.
