Should be a 1953 rifle, and if the forearm is thin and ends with a schnabel tip then it's a 99EG and probably wouldn't be factory d&t. If the forearm end is rounded and the forearm is a lot wider than the receiver it is a 99R and would be factory d&t.
In either model, if the d&t was factory you should see a Savage Model 99 stamp on the top front of the receiver to the side of the scope bases. If it wasn't factory d&t then that stamp is on top of the receiver and under the scope base.
