I have a chair/commode that the VA sent for my Dad before he passed away, that I am bringing. It has a bucket that holds about a gallon that comes with it. A tarp around it and everybody would be cool. miles

This made the trip to Quemado, but there was a toilet where we camped so it was not used. It travels good though. miles

you wouldn't even need the bucket, just carry it behind a sand dune then dig a hole and sit it over it. afterwards just bury the waste.

That's great guys. I'll let her know. She doesn't mind roughing it out, our concern is that it might be rough for the kids (almost 3 and 1yo) and not to make anyone uncomfortable by a woman being there... The kids love camping and the beach though.
I'll bring some peruvian pisco for the group if we make it, it is a double distilled drink from grapes and I am sure would be enjoyed.

Hopefully I can make my call switch and drive down on Thursday.
Miles, the commode would be awesome for anyone smile check out those chairs from REI

I looked at one of those on line but could not find out the seat height. I'm old and stiff and when my butt gets down too far, I have trouble getting up. Could be the iron in my blood turned to lead and settled in my butt. grin miles

Kind of like me on the iron butt and bad back. Yes these work.
I purchased mine at Sam's years ago for 29, then bought 2 more (2 are at farm in my trailer). I do not sit in bag chairs. These work.

You have a cabela's in your area? They have this type. Sam's has em in the spring time, not sure any are in stock this time of year. Wonder if they do on line orders.

Miles, the Costco in Houston has very similar chairs to the one Wtxj uses, I saw them this past weekeend maybe online there is more.
The REI ones like mine might be in the smaller size for your back problems, since when down the knees are somewhat higher than the butt.

THREE WEEKS!
THREE WEEKS!
THREE WEEKS!

Birdwatcher will be picking me up at the SAT airport. I'll be bringing my clothes and an air mattress, but will need to borrow a chair, tent space and everything else from the rest of you.

I WILL of course buy beer and such as my contribution.

Here's hoping that "Ernesto" or whatever comes after it doesn't blow us out.

it would be nice to get some rain before the 23rd, to pack the sand down and make the driving nice.
