Long story short, I'd like to scope one or the other (will be getting one of each) without sacrificing iron sights. Is this possible/practical? I know next to nothing about scopes and Enfields, compared to Mausers and Mosins.

The receiver looks like it has two areas to drill/tap, but they appear to be uneven.

There are 2 or 3 different mounts that I have seen but, I don't think any of them allow you to use the irons while the scope is mounted. I don't remember the manf. of mine but it is rock solid with no drilling and tapping required.

I'll have to ask Ahlman's up here in MN, then. If it ain't gonna work, I'll just get a peep sight for it.
