Which replacement blades do you Piranta users prefer? Why and how do you use your knife: field dressing, meat processing, taxidermy, all of the above, or other? Does it matter?

I use the 2 3/4" 60XT blades, the knife is good for all the above. The trick is to let the knife do the work, you do not have to force the cut. A lite smooth stroke gets the job done.

Other than taxidermy, all of the above. Original equipment blades, which I think are the 60XT mentioned above. As far as how to use, just don't pry or torque the blade much or it's gonna snap. Btw, I see they are making a new knife the Torch that takes a thicker blade.

60XT blades as mentioned. I get them from a taxidermy supplier. I buy them in bulk and $$$$

I use the 60xt and the #22 blade which is thicker and has a blunt tip better for caping less poke throughs.

What he said.

Seriously, you can completely cape and debone a whole deer or antelope with one blade as long as you don't try and use it as a crowbar.

FWIW, I bought a box of like 50 extra 60XT blades with the knife for under $20. I'd get whichever I could get the best deal on.

Before these knives, I used to carry a scalpel for caping. Now you can do it all with the one knife.
