The post about the old italian made hawken got me to thinking about a gun that I left in my Dad's closet when I went in the army in the 80's. So went out there today on my way to work and there it was. simply says made in italy on barrel and is a hawken type with SS barrel . only mine is or was cleaned prior to me putting it in there . havent fired it since about 1987 or so and don't remember the twist or what i was shooting in it . Any suggestions as to loads or bullets ? am guessing Goex 2f or maybe pyrodex 70 to about 90- grns , but what about bullets ? I think the last deer i shot with it was with a maxi ball , any help would be appreciated .
