Roger,
I'm officially out. Business is just not cooperating to let me come.
As much as I want to, it's just not going to happen this year.
I know I'll miss a great time and miss meeting some great folks.
I WILL get down there one day, this is just not the time.
Ed

I need to have a couple reels loaded. What type/weight of line are most folks using for surf casting?

I am spooling my 9ft MH rod and Penn Battle 6000 with 30lb braid (it will be first using that combo, so we'll see if it works). The M 7'0 rod for working lures will have 15lb braid on an older shimano 3000 series spinning reel. Those are the only real rods I am bringing .

So, I'm asking again: Does anybody have tent space for one more or should I buy one when I arrive? I don't snore.

I will have room in my tent, but I snore and don't get around too good in small spaces, but you are welcome to share. miles

Thanks! I'd just sleep outside, but I note that the forecast is for 60% chance of T-storms Fri and Sat.
Flying in limits my "gear" list pretty drastically.

I thought that I had already posted this but I guess I did not hit submit. I am bringing a 10x10 canopy and some tarps to add to the side or sides. Maybe we can keep you dry, one way or another. miles

I am bringing a 7ft sun umbrella and a 10x10 canopy. My kids might be running amok or using the canopy if the sun is killing us, but there should be extra space for stuff that needs shade. We will also bring a propane kitchen if stuff needs to be cooked on the fly. I will bring an extra lawn chair too and my home-made first aid kit with some sutures, hydrogen peroxide, medical tape, skin glue, etc. If bring it, then we won't need it

Well we cooled off here a little from the cool front the guys up in north central US sent down. Nice of them. Looks to be 4 canopies then. That should do. Nice fish Roger. Food: Have some snacks, anytime junkfood. Peanut butter, bread, think I'll get some hot dogs as the good Doc. is doing. Easy to heat in a pan. Eggs, going to be brave and bring 36. Small pan and butter for the scrambled type. Roger, got a sack (40lbs?) of mesquite for the grilling to help out. Paper plates, paper bowls, some plastic wear. Of course the paper goods are for eating the fresh caught black tip we are going to catch.

I was planning on bringing cereal, eggs, bread and some shredded cheese for the eggs . I'll bring charcoal if needed or pitch in with buying some more wood. Do we need to bring more paper plates/bowls or utensils. Should me make a list of who is bringing what? or will it be fly solo + some groups meals?

i'm also bring some paper plates and cups and eggs for breakfast. i'll bring some wood to cook with also. we'll be able to find plenty of driftwood for a campfire on the beach. i figured we'd just make sandwiches and stuff for lunch and cook meals for breakfast and supper.i'm bringing a couple of briskets and other stuff like chicken quarters sausage and fajitas to BBQ. i'll also bring some lunch meat and bread and other stuff i may think of later.
