Kurt,
Where did you handle the CZ? I looked them at last years SHOT, and thought they looked pretty darn nice! Have yet to talk with anyone who's shot one.

Boondocks has 1 of each guage! The frame size is specific to guage, the finish is well done, very tastefull unlike the Huglu which is a little over the top IMHO. Are you home now?

i looked at them in a store in omaha..... put a 9422 on layawy for my son.... as soon as it's paid off i will aquire one of the CZ doubles.... i like the 20, single trigger, semi pistol grip..... the guns with straight grip and double triggers just don't fit me well... i also looked at the ruger gold label and thought it was a litlle clumsy and plain looking..... john w

Hello KK Alaska I am new to the forum, I had the great fortune of Santa stopping at the house and leaving one of the CZ's. It is a 20 Gauge, I believe the model is the Ringneck, single trigger, knob pistol grip, choke tubes actually I got it the day before Christmas and went straight on a Quail hunt with it. I had the chance at one bird and got one bird, the gun seemed to come up and was there with no forced adaption on my part, the first shot was a miss, but the second was as if by magic, it swung very naturally, not sluggish at all. It has a Color Cased Receiver and Bottom Metal, Deep Blue Barrels, very attractive gun. The fit and finish are done very well, there are a few very minor warts, but you really have to nitpick to find them. After My Wife and Myself finished hunting we threw some clays via a tire mounted Outer's Pigeon Flinger. The gun made it very easy for a fat old bald guy to break birds, it comes to the shoulder with no effort, points and swings very well. The CZ/Huglu relationship seems to be a good one, the pride of craftsmanship is very evident. I would highly recommend it as a quality shotgun you don't have to hemmorage a bunch of cash to own. I am looking forward to a long relationship with this shotgun. It also comes with 5 choke tubes, Full, Imp Mod, Mod, Imp Cyl and Cyl. The safety aslo acts as the barrel selector, you make the choice of which barrel you want to fire first. Yes, I will buy another, I just have to have one of those cute little 410's. Good Luck & Great Hunting Chet

Kurt,
Handled the CZ's today, and could probably be seen with one, except they're missing a trigger! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Looks like all they have on hand are single trigger models. A straight gripped 28, with two triggers, would really perk my ears up.

I purchased a CZ Bobwhite 20 guage /26" barrels ,straight stock ,double triggers last spring. I have only had the opportunity to run near 200 rounds through it on skeet. So far it has performed flawless. I patterened it and it shoots to point of aim both barrels and is quite impressive with IC chokes and field loads as well as more expensive loads. I got a chance last week to shoot a couple quail in plantation pines over Brittanys and it worked perfect. Would recommend greasing and oiling hinge, lock and lugs, crossbolt as all I have seen came with quite stiff actions. I can say it performs in the field and the quality is outstanding for the money. The real test is how it holds up. That said, my experience is that double barrels in general will need repairs , just hope it is minor. CZ has 5 year warranty as I understand it.I expect to try a 28g in it , granddaughters you know. Huglu is not new in the firearms industry, but are said to make a extremely wide range of quality for marketing to different parts of the world, hopefully CZ has balanced quality and price. I have no interest in CZ or Huglu other than a pleased individual's opinion . Hope it helps, Frank

Pete,
If I get one, you'll surely get a call!
crackerjack,
Thanks for the input, and glad you're happy with your CZ. I'm seriously considering ordering one.

I got a .410 a while back and like it a lot. 2 triggers and fixed chokes. Under 5 pounds. Shots well. Simple action. Material and workmanship seem fine. Good luck.

I have the CZ Bobwhite in 28ga. Very nice gun, love DTs and straight stock, but would havepreferred 28" barrels. Have been shooting a DeHaan SO 12 ga. for waterfowl for several years also made by Huglu, grat gun too.

I tired out a CZ Bobwhite in .410 last fall, it was a nice little gun. I didn't get into the internals to check the wear but the firing pins were well aligned and the barrels were well struck for such an inexpensive gun. The triggers were close to the same pull weight and the gun patterned well with centers not too far off POA. That's pretty important in a .410 with about 20" of good pattern density.
The forend I could live without, the design looks out of place on a SXS. The .410 SXS's do not appear to have any appreciable cast, which is a mystery as the CZ O/U in .410 has quite a bit. It is a very cute gun, only time will tell if they can maintain service over the long haul. I would prefer a single trigger, being a southpaw. Double triggers set for right handers tend to make my smallish hand get pounded from the trigger guard. I suppose some willing soul could reverse the triggers. I love the straight grip, and the gun points like a spear.
