My son and I traveled to MN and back via Delta this summer. My T2 Kifaru and his Mystery Ranch 6500 worked great as carry on and they were actually packed pretty good with stuff. Due to how much these cost, I really wanted to keep them in hand the whole way and it worked great.

I put my Kelty Super Tioga in a North Face XL Base Duffel minus the expensive stuff. Had to remove the top bar to get it into the duffel. I have done this twice, and both times have had good results.

Gloria In Excelsis Deo!As far as gear goes.. The poorer (or cheaper) you are, the tougher you need to be. gpopecustomknives.com

Mine is flying today!! Off to NV on my buddy's mountain goat hunt.
Pack is stowed away in an REI overbag. I've read through this again and wouldn't want straps and belts swinging free.
See you in a week or so. :-)
