172 should be a lottery. There's not a bunch of deer there from what I've seen the last few years. hey!! I been hunting in 172 for years and years! Although ,this year I have my son going with,and I put in for 197,so I could be by him this year. granted it's only for doves, which I never saw the point of before. why shoot such a dang little bird? well this year I'm going. probably only once or twice, but dammit I need to hunt!

Doves are actually fun to hunt. Their deceptive speed provides a great challenge with the scatter gun. Unfortuanely around here, hunt-able flocks are few and far between.

granted it's only for doves, which I never saw the point of before. why shoot such a dang little bird? well this year I'm going. probably only once or twice, but dammit I need to hunt! Us too, 'cept we open for archery deer. It's our 24th anniversary on Monday & the missus & I are gonna spend the entire long weekend trying to let the air outa a couple of deer, together !! Hoping the warm temps pass before the weekend, don't fancy hanging animals in 30c ! Paul.

We meet with the radiologist this morning. As far as we know it is just to plan what is next. Then we are Chickenbuck bound. Woo hoo, it has been way too long since the last time there. Have a great Memorial weekend everyone!
I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

muffy, its labor day. summer is over! Hope all goes well, thinking of you Dusty and prayers out to you. Sounds like a lot of fun at chickenbuck this weekend. Iffn i was around i'd have to stop for a sasparilly with the gang! All have a great weekend, i'll be at fishenbuck camp! hoping to get some nice eyes for the eatins!

ET, you obviously got the knife gun package from Joey. We're safe and loaded pretty well down here. For awhile he was giving them away so I got two right away. I picked up one more a couple deer seasons ago. the this shoots great. MOFB (minute of flying bear) out to 2503 meters. after that she really drops.

it would be fun to come see you and everyone else Tom, but got some family coming up to do some fishing with me. i haven't been out in quite a while. I did get a food plot done this week and have seen a ton of nice bucks.

 Been a hectic week. Our grandson (7) came back from MT with us and we spent the time trying to keep him entertained. Spent Friday with my niece in Elgin, IL and took grandson to OHare on saturday for his flight home. He made it safe and sound. Returned to WI today.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Except for bears. Bears kill you.
