Ya' know, Warhawk, there is something familiar looking about your rifle........... I like! I only wish the laminated stocks were easier to come by.

I love my Marlin Guide gun in 45-70. I have the stainless steel model. I shoot 300 grain and I have good accuracynout to 200 yards with ghost ring sights.

A little late to the party but....
If the original owner put on a WWG Ghost ring, it might be a pretty fare bet he also put in a WWG Happy Trigger Kit into it as well.
Easy way to tell without taking it appart is to take your finger and try to push the trigger forward. If if moves/folds forward it still has the original two piece trigger. If it doesn't move/fold forward it likely has the WWG one piece trigger kit in it - worth about $100 extra.

I have one of the originals like that , bought it new when they first came out. You will love it, and that's a great price. Play with some loads, mine likes 350 grain. I think its best all round bullet for plinking and hunting in .45/70.
