For those that are texturing/stippling the micarta handles how are you doing it? Is it done on a fixture or mill for uniformity or simply a practiced hand with a dremel tool?
I was playing with a piece of micarta using a drum sanding attachment on a dremel and it was leaving ruffled edges. The ruffled edges disappeared when I used the abrasive blaster on it but that left a flatter appearance than what I was looking for.

MSC has a disc cutter that will fit the dremel. It is about 1/2 disc with serrated edges that you caan control the depth of how far you cut into the handle mterial. The disc is very agressive so goes fast.

Thanks guys, just finished playing around in the drill press on some hardwoods. Using a simple mill vice I was able to control the pattern nicely. I on the fence between nicely layed out dimples and a random jigging pattern. Sorry no pics, camera is getting rebuilt right now.

I like assorted types of stippling & jigging. They all have their own character, I like some that are real semetrical and some that our more random.
