I have a 16 gauge model 12 that was manufactured in 1942. The gun has seen a lot of use, but is still in fine shape. The blueing is mostly gone and the stock has seen better days, but the gun is still tight and mechanically perfect. I used it to kill a few doves yesterday morning.
The buttstock has been cut and has a ventilated recoil pad installed. The pad is old and the surface has become hard and slick. The stock has a few minor cracks around the head and wrist areas. I want to replace the stock with either an original or an aftermarket made to original specs. I also want to have a correct style buttplate. I saw in the Numrichs Gun Parts cataloge that there are two different styles of but pads. Does anybody know the difference between the two and which one would be correct for my gun?
Any other info or knowledge out there that may be useful would also be great. Thanks folks!

I'm in the same hunt for a 20ga stock, I've been looking at the Boyds replacements for the 16/20 frame. Not really to expensive versus a used original in good shape. The stock on the 20ga is in great shape, just a tad to short for my LOP.
