Travis Funny, I'd actually noticed that too.

PS... you know when your driving down the freeway and you see the plain old international truck with all the fuel saving wind deflectors pullin a load......And then you see the long hood peterbuilt that has been lowered with chrome stacks all polished out lookin neat in the seat hauling the same trailer..... If style points matter get the 1911. Yep, and the International driver nets more and gets home more often...

Thanks all.
I had forgotten about the S&Ws and didn't know Kimber ever made one. I may just save my pennies or look for a trade on a Kimber.
For budget, looks like it's between EAA and Glock with advantage Glock for the add-ons and a sure supply of parts. Not knocking EAA, but imports of that type have a tendency disappear after a takeover, merger, what have you, and suddenly parts are impossible to come by. On the other hand, I located what looks like a target Witness 10mm at a local shop via GB for $535. I'll get over and look at it tomorrow.
If only the Glock wasn't so butt ugly!

I've got 2 Glock 10mm's, one of each size. I've also got 3 -1911 10mm's. One Kimber & 2 Colts. My Glocks are right there in accuracy with my Kimber, & slightly more accurate than my Colts. You just can't go wrong with the Glock 10mm for the price! Not to mention that with 1 mag in my Glock 20, I'm packing 15 + 1
I've been a Glock Armor. for over 16 years, & have Never seen a 10mm fail.

Given the limited selection in affordable and portable 10mm pistols outside of the Glock 20/29, my back country friends have gravitated to the Glock 23 in 40 S&W for all around use. They are not your traditional sportsmen, bullet weights and ballistics matter little. No doubt better calibers exist than 10mm or the lesser 40 S&W when running into hogs. I am going to buy a Glock 23 and see if it takes, cant wrap my head around the Glock 20/29. Walking up on a downed hog or taking a close in, broad side shot at an unsuspecting upwind meat hog, why not, you got 12 rounds.

If the Glock 20 is too big for your hands, I would take a serious look at the Glock 32 in 357sig. It's the same size as a Glock 23, in a much better caliber, if your main concern is hogs. I've killed several at our ranch here in N.Texas with mine. The .357sig is also what our DPS Troopers choose to carry because of the cartridges penatration advantages.
Plus if you want a .40 cal Glock, just buy a cheap Lone Wolf Glock barrel in .40cal. Then just drop the other barrel in & your ready to go! You can use the same mags & recoil spring. Ad mine is just as accurate as the Factory Glock bbl. The Lone Wolf barrels are about $100, and you can order direct or get one from Cheaper Than Dirt.

Not better than the 10mm! I I like the .357sig much better than the .40 cal. Much better Penatration for hogs....

Glock. I think it's the only "cheap" 10mm still being made.
Dink exactly. A G20 ( mine is a SF ) will fill the bill. Always go bang. And you can easily personalize it to make it your own. I would like a 1911 heavy bastard in 10 mm but for now the Glock will do.

That polymer frame on the Glock 20 soaks up a lot of recoil. I think too much hoopla is raised about the recoil of the 10mm. I have two Glock 20s, and have shot both extensively. I carried one on duty when I was Sheriff's Deputy in Texas. I could shoot my Glock 20s all day and not suffer sore hands or aching wrists.

I've always thought the G20 was very shootable. My wife shoots mine and claims it as her favorite....much more so than a G27.
A G20 is the most cost effective way to get into a 10mm. The newer barrels have a lot of support and after market barrels are easy to get. To the op...try the G20, you can always "upgrade" later...or you may just be so pleased you'll not want to.

I have had just about all of the different 10mm guns at one time or another and best bang for the buck is a Glock 20. It always goes bang and I have had no problem with a steady diet of 200gr Lead WFN Double Tap ammo. It was both accurate and dependable.

I recently bought a Glock 29SF to carry during archery hunts. Pretty hard to beat at 2 pounds loaded. I added a Pierce pinky extender thingy to the mag and it is very easy to hold/shoot. I even started using it as my concealed carry gun as it fits in the same Crossbreed holster that was made for my Glock 26.
