I hope this finds you doing well up there Mike and that you have a great season as well.

We've been chasing deer during the youth season since the first and the eldest has killed a nice 2nd rack mulie so far.

Anyway thanks for the thread and all the best to you and the rest of our BC and Canadian contingent this fall.

Dwayne

Hi Dwayne:

Give your daughter congratulations for me on her mule deer success. My brother and I plan to take my niece out in October probably the north end of region 5. Hopefully for her first deer. Good luck to all BC hunters.

Hey, Mike, best of luck to ya, wish I was going along to get a nice "meat" Moose! I need one as my freezer is empty and I am hungry for Elk/Moose meat.

If all works out, I will be hunting in the West Kootenays for Elk, will have a Moose tag and Whitetail and Mulie tags as well, this from Oct. 1-12 or thereabouts.

Gawd, I miss living in the BC Interior, where ya can be hunting 10 minutes from your back door!

Used to be able to be hunting one minute from the door but nowadays one has to look both ways before getting out of the truck to avoid getting run over by an ATV. Wasn't long ago that the sound of September was accented by the bugling of bull elk. Now the predominant sound is the drone of ATV engines as they blanket the area "hunting". I have not heard a bugle within earshot of our house(from an elk, that is)for the last half dozen years. I now drive for two hours to get away from the influx of motorized hunters. It has reached the point where real environmental damage is being done by people who are allegedly hunting. GD

i would have to agree with Greydog. I need to get away from all these atv's running around, and people trying to sneak onto my property to shoot a deer

Our Moose season opens up on the 15th of August up here in 7b, had my Moose down on the 18th, and now trying for 3pt or better Elk and Cow opens on the 15th in certain areas, really easy to fill the freezer that's for sure
