You kimberlovers ain't to bright, as in reading comprehension issues? Didn't do to well on the Regent's Test in college, didja?

You also ain't mailed to many guns lately either. $25 might mail a pistol IF you don't insure it.

I'll PM you geniuses my paypal info so's you can send me $25 ea. since it is such a trivial sum.

Nope, never shipped a rifle. And the real genius is the guy who still owns a rifle he obviously hates and who won't even call the factory HIMSELF to see what they can and will do.

I'd just keep bitching about it though. It'll get better.

I'd give them a chance to make it right. My 7 mm 08 classic shoots under an inch easily and quiet often into less tha .75!

And, if it's such a big thorn in your side, I would think the cost of shipping, no matter what it is, would be a mere pittance compared to the grief your obviously suffering.

And if $25.00 would push you over the edge to send it back to the factory and would shut you up about your POS Kimber, send me your PayPal info!

I'm going to make ONE more range trip, using leupold number three, and then send them the rifle and the target.

My 308 Montana wears a 2-7 Kahles, my 3006 NULA a Z3 3-9; both scope are better than my 2.5-8's.
I've got a couple of earlier Conquests in 3-9, great value scopes, reckon they are a bit big for a Montana and for me spoil the balance.
Most all my shooting is under 200 yards and the majority well under half that distance, the Kahles is just right.

Holy [bleep] [bleep] I wish I had Take A Knees mindset. His do-nothing, btch and moan, piss into the wind attitude is awesome. It would save me from being so [bleep] ambitious and doing things like making guns shoot, paying bills, hunting, shooting rifles, scouting, working on my truck, making friends/hunting contacts, etc.

Jesus H. Christ I should have adopted his mentality today and told the Goose hunters I just met and hunted with today that it was raining out, and my shotgun was cold on my little fingy's, and I was wet and btchy so I coulda just gone home and forgot about it.

And cleaning the Geese....for fck sakes...its sooooo much work. You gotta sharpen a knife...who has time or energy for that!?!?!?

Given it's a Montana and suited for mountain terrain, I'd choose a scope that I could get behind in a variety of positions, some less than ideal and downright uncomfortable, and quickly acquire game that could be slipping through cover. All while not whacking myself in the forehead with the scope with the recoil.

Not a Montana but close, for me on my 84M a 2-7x33 CDS is perfect.

Actually, it is much cheaper to ship a long gun than a pistol. Last pistol I shipped through UPS was $70. Last rifle was $24. Rifles can go USPS or UPS/Fed ex 3 day. Pistols can't go USPS (unless you're an FFL) and must go overnight through UPS (and I think Fed Ex too).

Just recently traded for this Montana in 25-06. It came with Tally Medium rings. I have one of the new leupold VX-2 3-9x40 Silver so I mounted it for looks. The rings are a bit high for me then I like for proper cheek weld. I ordered a set of low mounts but think there isn't enough clearence for a 40mm bell. Might have to swap scopes and use my VX-3 2.5-8x36mm with Boone & Crocket reticle. Here is a picture with a Leupold VARI-X III 3.5-10x40mm

The 2.5-8 is matte finish so I ordered the low Tally mounts to match. Might be a better fit.

Ken,
The talley LW lows will work with a 3.5-10x40 on the 84L, so I'd imagine they'll be fine on your 8400.

I ordered them from Midway and should be here Friday morning on the brown truck. I ordered the black set of rings. I will try the 3.5-10x40 Boone & Crocket matte finish first and if not enough clearence up front I'll mount the 2.5-8x36 matte finish. Either way they are both good choices in optics.

Had a Ruger #1, 6x42 needed a hair more to clear w/lows. Solution? Used a shim from a business card. Done the same w/aluminum cut from a coke can. Sometimes that's all you need wink

Nice rig Badly. How do you like those alumina flip ups?

I liked the aluminas just fine. Was unable to find one to fit my front objective. I use butler creeks as well. If you find a deal on the the Aluminas, I think they are worth having.
