This is the Model 88 to drool over. 4 digit .308 that beat me up and I traded it for the 97

Call me sacreligious but I put pachmeyer decelerator 1 in. pads on my 88's and 100's. All these are hunting guns, well used with no collector value. The pads make the guns much more pleasent to shoot. The current stock on both my early and later pre 64 88s are repaired stocks - brown dyed accraglass. If I run into one like yours - it goes into the vault asap!

I shoot my best guns -- at the range. If I hunted it might be worthwhile to get beater stocks.
