Leaves are turning more but not full color yet. I'm not sure they will get as bright and colorful this year, so dried out before the frost started in the mornings.

mama is getting real close to droppin the baby, my guess is today or tomorrow. took my Pa out scouting for deer yesterday am, he stopped on his way home from elk hunting in MT. he was kind enough to drop us off 25 lbs of meat too he and I saw about 8 or 10 bucks, mostly basket 8's maybe a little bigger, but nothing BIG. had a nice hike though and I enjoyed being out with my dad again, it's been many years. we did fine another dead deer, which makes 3 that have died since I treated the water tanks. considering we lost 5 in 3 days before that, and only 3 in the week that followed the treatment I would say it helped. too many factors to know for sure, but I think it did. total dead 3 does 5 bucks. archery opener is next weekend, between that and the baby coming, my head is abuzz and it's hard to concentrate!

Our leaves are changing bit not really bright colors. I think they're going to be brown and down this year.
Beautiful morning here, sitting on the deck drinking coffee, checkin the fire.

he is super pumped, he keeps talking to Kendra's tummy and telling everyone his baby sister is in there and he loves her very much, it's too precious. every so often he'll tel us all the things he will teach her, and he digs in his toy box and brings me a toy or two saying "I really love this toy but I want to give it to my baby sister so she has a good toy too" he really has a big heart.

Sounds like a proud big brother.
Starting to see some color here too. Unfortunately a lot of trees have been hit by the drought and the leaves have just dried up and falling.

Great weekend it looks like. I pulled my troof cam 35 off the popple in the back yard and the batteries were corroded into the unit. I had to use wd-40 to get them out. I cleaned it up, slapped some fresh "D's" in her and it fired right up. Just like an old Ford.

Tom, You know if your batteries poop on your machine, most companies will replace the unit for you. I've done this once with a flashlight. Sent in the light, the batteries, and a receipt for a replacement that I bought because I couldn't wait for their refund. They sent me a check for the price of the new light. It was Duracell. I try to stay loyal to that brand for that reason.

I didn't know that. I actually still have the receipt, which is rare for me.
Why is that? I'm surprised the rig still works. It was strapped to that tree since this time last year. I remember pulling the card last winter and never put it back in.

Tom, Grab another pack of the same batteries of the same brand and look for some small print. I haven't looked in a few years, but it was there.

Pics of wolf soon to follow I hope.
How do the tags work in WI, Bill? Is the hunt during the gun deer season or is there another season for the wuff's?

Tom, the wolf season runs from Oct 15, 2012 to Feb 28, 2013. You can hunt them 24/7. Hunting methods are very liberal. You can use guns, bows, knieves, spears, traps, and last but not least knieveguns. There is however, an injunction on hunting them with dogs. The humane society cozied up to a big name law firm (H,H and R) and found a bleeding heart judge that ruled it was inhumane to the dogs to let them chase wolves. The dnr is going to have to come up with better evidence to prove minimal risk to the dogs.
BTW, coyotes are once again legal during the deer gun season. Yote season has been closed for a number of years during the deer gun season, because hunters could possibly mistake a wolve for a yote.

I think the yote season has been closed during the gun season since I've been going to hunt in WI which would be about 1996.
Are you out for a tag or is there still a chance you get one?
