Congrats! Nothing quite like laying your hands on some sheep horns.

Whew, I haven't read that much since a high school teacher made me read War and Peace, I enjoyed this a whole lot better! Thanks for sharing the pics and story of a great hunt with what sounds like a "ride the river with" hunting pard. Congrats!
"The day I went to work everybody showed up to watch Johnny Luster work. Well, they had a wheelbarrow there, and said I was to push that thing around all day. I looked at it, then turned around and headed for the mountians..."

hunt ak; Thanks for the link to the good write up and crisp photos. Well done on both and of course congratulations on the ram. He's got a lot of character being broomed off on both sides like that. I thought I could make out that he was 7 in one of the photos, but then again I've been known to count wrong on a set of horns in my hands. He's certainly got an older ram's facial profile to my way of thinking. Do you have a definitive age on him? Anyway, congratulations again on a grand ram and thanks again for sharing the hunt with us. Regards, Dwayne

Congrats! Nothing quite like laying your hands on some sheep horns. Very true....you can't really put it into words... Whew, I haven't read that much since a high school teacher made me read War and Peace, I enjoyed this a whole lot better! Thanks for sharing the pics and story of a great hunt with what sounds like a "ride the river with" hunting pard. Congrats! Thanks. I was worried it was going to be too long, but the gory details are good sometimes! Yeah, a good hunting pard like that is about the best piece of 'gear' you can take into the field with you... Do you have a definitive age on him?
Thanks for the props on the pics...I tried hard to make sure the photos were good. You're only out there once on a given hunt and taking the time to capture it is well worth the time, IMO. He was 11 years old...

Thanks for the props on the pics... He was 11 years old... hunt ak; Thanks for the reply sir. You can see now what I mean by my inability to count annuli properly. Eleven for a ram down here - California's - would be beyond ancient! He's a wonderful trophy animal and him being 11 makes it doubly so. Thanks again for the reply and all the best on the rest of your hunts this fall. Regards, Dwayne
