Great pics! Glad you had a good time....but a Hi Point? Really?

It was a beautiful day to be out. Cool temps, enough sun breaking through to keep it from getting uncomfortable. Ladyfriend, or as I like to refer to her, The Skirt, had a good time and is really taking to "this hunting stuff." We scoped out a couple spots. The clear cut we're on will be good for about another year or two then it's going to be too thick and too tall to hunt.

Did anybody notice my 24 Hour Campfire headgear? (Matches nicely with the ol' Hi Point!)

Man that cut grew up fast! I'm glad you guys found a few spots to sit. You'll get deer there.

Nothing like it, thanks for the peek into your world.
But a High Point??????

Tom,
The Skirt really wanted a rabbit! 'Wish we'd have jumped one. No grouse were harmed in the making of these photos. So I guess I get the everlasting scorn of the Campfire crowd till I upgrade from the Hi-Point, huh?

Eric,
Did use guys see any grouse? We kicked up one and Andy Glock'd a rabbit. Not a one. But, we'll probably get up again another time or two. Hoping to plug some. And I'd encourage everyone to try a Hi Point, on that note. Not plagued with the problems of Jimenez and similar brands. They're ugly and huge, but they work, and the lifetime warranty's nice. Oh, and it's a Blackhawk holster, not an Uncle Mike's, though I was carrying my 1911 in an uncle Mike's. Thought my custom kydex might be too tacticool.

You could have flushed them and not even heard em it was so think. The one I flushed was literally under my new stand, and I was holding a board, not a shotgun. Of course, it flew straight, and in the open. That doesn't happen with the 20 in my mits.

Yeah, true -- the spot we had hunted since I started going with, at 10 years old, was MUCH more open (even in early fall like this). Also, the trails were dirt and never grew up, but there just wasn't much growing on the ground.
Will always miss that spot...
Anyway, I'm gonna hafta get my dad to give me the directions. I'm taking the ladyfriend to Duluth for their zombie ship thingy, next month, for our anniversary. If it works out we're gonna stay overnight, and the day after, go small game hunting/scouting in the same area we were in. I think so long as I can get on that road I would recognize the gate we stopped by, but of course now that I say that we'll sail past and never see it, ha.

If you knew how many birds I've shot down that gated road, you'd remember it. hint hint hint.

We're going to try a run up to Emily to check out our old stomping grounds. The only problem up there is we won't be able to shoot does. Man, I wish we could have gotten the lease on that section.
