While Cheesy was here this weekend I checked the POI of the old 582 Remington 22LR and a 10-22 Sporter.
Shot a few clays with the Beretta 686 Sporting 12ga.During the week it was the RRA Coyote Rifle and M700 ADL banging the gong, both .223.Last week I checked the sighting on the two rifles going elk hunting next month. FN M70 Fwt. 7-08 with 140 Partitions and the Ol 270, M700 BDL, Pac-Nor, B&C Mountain Rifle-Alaskan with 150 Partitions.

I like the way you operate.

CZ452 in the yard today. Loaded some 120TTSX for a 280AI.

Two good choices.

Did you by chance have a chrony for those 120's? (gotta believe that's a rocket)

Got a chrony but haven't lit them off yet, just stuffed 'em this evening. Hoping for 3300-3350 and small groups. grin

We'll see. I started at 60gr of H4350 and will work up.

I've been alternating between my Remington 40XB Rangemaster Thumbhole in .220 Swift and one that was rebarreled into a 6mm/250 Savage. Been getting to the range about once a week. grin

If you wouldn't mind, would you PM me the results when you do get a chance? (just in case you don't start, or I don't see the thread).

Two 40XB's!

You, and run-of-the-mill don't really go in the same sentence.

One a rocket, and one for BC (I see what you're up to) grin

Just been playing with the M1 Garand (shoots great to 250) and the AR. Pistols are the Sig P938, Sig 226, Colt XSE and of course the 22/45 Lite Ruger.
No hunting for me until rifle deer in Nov. thru Jan.

I've been working with a few guns of late.

We have Antelope Armaggedon comin' up in Wyoming in a coupla weeks, so I've been mostly gettin' ready for that... checkin' my loads for my M70 270 Wizzum, and they're printin' fine out to 300 yds so far. Gotta a rancher buddy who says I can come out and practice some at 400 yds at his place, might take him up on that.

But truth to tell, the Wizzum may have a competitor this year... my Savage M99 in .308 Win has a new lease on life with a Barnes 130 gr TSX bullet. Day-um, can this combo shoot! We're talkin' half a dozen sub-0.5-inch groups in a row last Sunday, with 3000 fps velocities! Sonamabee-otch! This load/rifle could come along and supplant the Wizzum as the current purveyor of winter's meat!

I bought a 5.5" Ruger Bisley a while back, had a local 'smith cut an 11 degree forcing cone and true the back of the barrel up to the cylinder, plus tune the trigger some... I'm taking that with me to WY, as well, but I'm still working on my handloads for it... got a fine .45 caliber HP mould that I intend to kill a LOT of critter with in the next few years. I'm working with different alloys at this point... I can plunk these punkin's into a 5-inch circle at 75 yards, I just want to be sure I've got the alloy soft enough.

Then there's the ol' Winchester M1886 Extra Light Rifle I've had for a number of years, but never hunted with... well, I finally got a Marbles tang sight screwed onto it, and have some 300 gr handloads that can hit inside 2 MOA out to 200 yards, and that's likely to be my crick-bottoms rifle this year.

Not to mention my 6" M586, which I took to the range just fer schitts & grins last week, and found shoots like God's Anointed out to 150 yards, irons sights & all... day-um! So I may have to take IT along instead of the new Bisley.

Life is short.

Shoot more guns.

I haven't even held a Garand in parade rifle form for twenty-five years. frown

Hey Doc - glad you chimed in.

The 99's usually do shoot lights out - even my take downs with interuppted threads. It's a phenomenon I don't understand, but am all to happy to take advantage of (haven't hunted mine in far too long though).

Factory irons on the 586, Bowen Rough Country rear sight on the Bisley, Marbles tang sight on the '86, Leupold optics on the Wizzum and M99.
