Anyone have any info on this cartridge. Parent case? It is said to run a .223/ 40 gr bullet out of a 5 inch barrel at 2100 fps and is chambered in a 1911 style gun made by Rock Island/Armscor.

While you tube has some interesting videos it does not have the information I seek, like case drawings/dimensions, parent case, availiability of reloading dies and components and data. In fact some of the things I have seen on youtube I believe to be incorrect information. Mostly they are pictures of folks havin fun shootin a cool new gun. Well anyhow I emailed the MFG and got some info from Fred Graig who was one of the designers. This correct info however did not seem to convince a couple fellows they were incorrect in their thinking and so they continue blissfully in their ignorance of the subject and continue to inform others with incorrect info from behind the gun counter at the local toy store. Somethings never change.

I would have suggested RIA's home page, but it has been down for a while.

Yea I noticed that. The issue with these fellows is that they say the 22tcm is a necked down 9x19 para case. That case is much shorter than the 22tcm case. One fellow says the 9mm case stretches when sized down to 22 cal. the tcm case is 9mm longer than the para case and brass just ain't gonna stretch that far. The designer says they shortened the .223 case to get a strong case that will run the pressure they needed for the design to do what they had in mind for it. Some of the youtube folks are saying similar things about it being a 9mm neck down and it is bogus info but lots of folks believe EVERYTHING they hear on the net. I just cannot convince these knowit alls they are incorrect even when the engineer that designed the case tells them they are. Something like "you can't fix stupid" comes to mind.

There is one of the combos at that local toy store and about 15 boxws of ammo. I think it is not a bad price but I don't remember just now what it was. Fairly high on my bucket list just for the uniqueness of the thing. Pretty cool.
