I have owned a savage 99 in 300 Savage for about three years. I have never been able to ID it, and am looking for help. It has a flat butt stock and a stright, or plain, front stock. Pistol grip and front stock are checkered. Barrel is marked Chicopee Falls, Mass. Reciever marked Savage 99 and has a very small "N" stamped just above the front stock on the left side. Brass rotary magazine. Serial #757xxx. Stamp on lever boss looks like a "T" or maybe "F". Thanks for any help you can give.

Could be an F, R, or EG.
What's the barrel length? Is there a barrel boss where the rear sight sits?
Does the forearm have a schnable tip?

Usually I'd say EG right off the bat if it's in 300 but seeing as how it has a plain forearm I'd go with R or F.
If it's an F look at the right side of the barrel and see if it's stamped "99F". If it is, I'd hazard a guess that it's an F.
