Spent the morning rippin out the beaver dam. They put the dam on the upstream side of our road and plugged the culvert. Dam ran 50 yards to the East and 5 to the West. We had a good 18 inches of water screaming over the road when we opened it up. What a mess, Mud and sticks everywhere. Sounds like we may have a couple of guys that will come in and trap them. Not much sense in trying to fix the road back up too good untill we get rid of the critters. Just as we finished up, I managed to fall into the creek. My left foot was stuck in the mud and it threw me off balance when I went to move. Down I went. Seat of my pants was a muddy mess. I dumped about a quart of H2O out of each of my hip boots. Good thing I had brought along a change of clothes.

I wanna see a pic of a wolf in your hands Fluffy! Preferably a dead one.
Now in the mail yesterday I got something too. Two things actually. One said, "Tag nonres gray wolf" and the other said "nonres McCall elk B". So it might not be a Minnesota wolf, but I got a chance to shoot one boys and girls!

I can wear my dress blues again if I feel the need to dress up for the wife.
Oh there is no way I'm ever fitting into my blues again lol!! Those things were fitted for a 19 year old boy. There is NO way. lol! C'mon, where's the fun in easy?!?!?!?!? It actually took too much time and training when I did it. I signed up for the ironman triathlon in Madison and then got my wife pregnant a few months later. By the time we knew, I had an expensive bike, and had lost 20 pounds (lost a little over 40 total). Did the race with a two-month old at home. In hindsight, doing the training for something like that would have been ok without children, but doing it with a pregnant wife or with kids on purpose is about as self-absorbed as you can get. Now, 5 years later and still in the mid-180's for weight (at 6-1) I'm glad I did it, but don't plan on doing it again.

Goalie, I don't think my skeleton would fit in my dress blues. What did you get for a bike?

Goalie, I don't think my skeleton would fit in my dress blues. What did you get for a bike? A QR triathlon bike with Dura-Ace and a nice wheelset. The best thing about the tri was that it got me into biking. I bike to work year-round now, and it keeps me in-shape. I also, allegedly, have too many bikes now. I try to explain to the commander-in-chief that you need N+1 for bikes, with N=the bikes I have now, but she isn't buying it. Biking > running for exercise IMO. I have a 104 mile mountain bike race in AZ next year to train for, and it's waaaay better than trying to run, bike, and swim.

I'm kind of looking at a few "hybrid/comfort" bikes. Wont be doing any events, it would be strictly leisure, fun, exercise. Something like a Trek Shift 3 (dork bike )

Are you gonna have granola bars in your lunch box? You no beer drinkin, weight losing, bicycle riding, granola crunching, fool. What's next? Are you gonna start a beaver farm to rescue those beavers? I need to find some new bad influences.

I did see 1 on my trip to BC though.

Close to 40 actually. I blame it on beavers. They can be some stressful critters.
