My wife and I won a trip to Napa Valley for this weekend - courtesy of Andretti Winery. We've got tours at 3 pm Today and Saturday. Where are some good places for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Thanks!

Some of my favorites: - Rutherford Grill in Rutherford for grilled artichokes and their French Dip Sandwich - Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen in Helena for their Duck Burger - Hurley's in Yountville for a fancy dinner If you get a chance, drop by Provenance Winery as well and ask for Tom Rinaldi. Thank him for his support of veterans and tell him Col Matt, now in SC, says "hello."

Here are some nice places a friend of mine recommends, all are higher end and range from Expensive to very expensive (2 people about $100 plus drinks / wine). If it is some special occasion then try Auberge de soleil, very pretty view off the deck where they can sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. Great Food. It is off the Silverado Trail. Bistro Don Giovanni's food is always good, not real expensive, well stocked bar and a great wine list. Others are listed below also.
Auberge de soleil _ very nice looks out over the Napa Valley expensive but nice Bistro Don Giovanni just north of Napa off of hwy 29, good food, bar and wine list Ad Hoc Thomas Keller, fixed price menu fancy French Blue new hot- dont take reservations Carneros Inn South of Napa main restaurant there. Very nice for dinner Angele Napa near the river and night life Mustards Yountville Bouchon Yountville French bistro like will be busy

V. Satuii for a light lunch at the winery. And be warned the police frequently run DUI checkpoints on the 2 lane roads running in & out of Napa Best to get a room in Town and relax. Peju is my fave small winery there, right across the street from Mondavi. Mr. Peju frequently pours for his visitors. He's a pretty interesting guy, came to America from France as an actor, and started a winery.

Don't eat. Save room for enjoying what might be the world's finest wine. And it's healthy.

A dinner at the Silverado Country Club was always good. While I grew up nearby (35 years) I left in '95 so I am not sure if it is still as good as it was.

Don't go to Michael Chiarello's (sp) From "Napa Style" TV show. Too pretentious Overpriced and the food was rushed out and not well prepared. One of my biggest disappointments of our trip as I always enjoyed the show.

I live a half hour above the Napa Valley. Being a reclusive redneck, I don't really enjoy exclusive dining, the company of yuppie wine snobs or the prices associated with such entertainment.
Wish I could help...

Auberge de Soliel....just down the hill from the Stag's Leap winery.

Thx. Looks like we're trying Auberge as we are staying at Andretti. Stags Leap and Silver Oak are on our agenda today.

The Sebastiani Winery is worth checking out for the Old World wood carving that abounds. A fine wine selection, also. Family owned by a very fine family. I did some work for them in the early 80s. Good people. That fact is not at all true for some of the wine families.
