http://wdfw.wa.gov/news/sep2112a/Check this out. They've had enough of the wolves in NE Washington. As my girls used to say, "No DUH!"

Good Start.
It would be nice to have a open season for um and open up trapping again, It's the only way they will ever get a handle on them.

I know they are sick of them in Idaho already too. Saw a piece in the Spokane paper not that long ago about a pile of wolf carcasses being found somewhere in the Panhandle. No immediate cause of death and it didn't sound like anyone was going to check any further.

I guess they think that they can train the wolves to eat veggies. When deer and elk get hard to find did they think that livestock would not be there source of food.It sounds like they have fooled the cattlemen to think that there cattle are exempt from wolf food sources. They use terms like co-exist.LOL Here in Washington the game dept has to pay the ranchers for there losses so guess where that comes from. You guessed it out of the game dept budget that should go to game inhancement programs rather that wolf food.

Our WA hunting partners have told us that they removed wolves near Mt St Helens too - but I have not tried to track down verification.
Ignorance is not confined to uneducated people.

I missed that. I'll check the WDFW website for news and let you know if I find anything. Someone would have had to drop off wolves for them to be around Mt. St. Helens already.

It sure would be cheaper and easier to simply put a $100 bounty on them! What do you think a professional hunter would cost??

I saw a news piece on tv about this very case and they tried to make the rancher sound like part of the problem. He has a valid lease on the land even if it is open range and the state knows it is liable for some of his losses.

I saw a report on TV last night and I'm with you on this. They killed the alpha male they had radio collared. Didn't say one way or they other if they were going after the ones left. It did sound like they might be done which would not solve the problem. Again, what does a professional hunter and a helicopter cost vs. a small bounty?

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/201...d-cattle-taken-out-by-sharpshooters?liteThey expect other wolves to move into the 'Wedge'... because they have deer & elk & other wildlife to eat.... get [bleep] real....they feel bad to shoot the wolves... but its OK for the wolves to devistate the deer/elk herds...

I suspect some group will drag the proposal through the court system first, so it might take two or three years to actually execute.

I'm not going to vote for te darn wolf lover. How he snuck the reintroduction in before he was president is beyond me. Laffin! What president was at the helm, when the wolf was delisted?
I wanted to take a scalp, but the kill was not mine.

The report said they shot the subordinate members of the pack first and shot the alpha male last because he had he tracking collar on that allowed them to find the pack repeatedly. If I remember right they shot 6 wolves in total. So no court case to stop that, its aready done.
And Clinton was at the helm when they were re-introduced.
