Sorry about the "regal" part. Cookie was out briefly today in an airboat. One can not apply much stealth when there's a 350 engine wide open just a few feet behind.

Anyway, here's the south end of a north-bound coot in full afterburner smoking up the first third of the runway.

When pushed they will abort the take off and do a dive to escape whatever. No pics, but that does not work well when they've traversed into an inch or so of water.

One can hit the reply button to boost resolution to 1024 x ?? and then back out. Have a good one,

I thought you might chime in. With pelican, grebe, honkers, and quite an array of ducks, that one was her favorite for the day.

Once when we prepared a blind multispecies waterfowl meal, the only one that got negative votes was green winged teal. The coot got passing grades despite the fact that no one has ever sees a young one. Have a good one,
