I went trout fishing last weekend near Broken Bow. Caught some rainbows and two "gold fish". I don't know what those are, look like rainbows, but gold. Guessing some type of hy-breed being stocked now.

They are either a hybrid or a Golden trout, a sub species of a Rainbow. Either way they are plants. I don't think Goldens are native to Nebraska (kidding of course).

I've heard of golden trout before. Do those reproduce in the wild? I would think they would be easy prey for birds.

They look like Albino rainbows to me. They are rare, and make an easy target for birds. Nice catch.

They are just rainbow trout with gold coloration. They are a hatchery strain bred for the angler, wouldn't last long in the wild.

They are called Paleminos (sp). I don't think I have ever found a wild one, but the hatcheries around here stock them from time to time, and many of the larger stocked places get a couple of them in there.

I'd rather have a bad day hunting than a good day working!
