Every now and then you get a really good day at the range.....no guy with 338 Lapua rifle and muzzle brake sitting next to you, no 35 knots crosswind etc etc. Well went with my 260 rem Sako Varmint loaded with Hornady 123 gr. A-max and I returned home with a big smile !

Here is a pick of the best 3 shot group @ 100 metres taken on my cell.

Your low. I'm in the beginning stages of building a 260. I'd be really happy if 125gr partitions group twice that big. Nice shooting.

Want To Buy;
Form die for a 7mm Mashburn Super.
.284 Hornady AMax 162gr.
.224 Hornady AMax 75gr.
22-250 bushing die
Bushing die that will work with the 7mm Mashburn Super

Nice shooting. Always thought the .260 was a great round.
My .260 was an early edition Model 7. It wouldn't group that well 5 feet from the muzzle.
After rebarreling, it was a great gun.

Look up the speed for both kinds of ammo and you can create a smarter option. How much will a .260 vs a .308 drop over the range of 3,000 feet---that is 1,000 metres and is well over one-half distance. Are you sure about the distance?

That .260 is obviously a fine shooter and a fine job of shooting on your part. Congrats!

Yep, the .260 is awesome. I shot a 2.5" 3 shot group today at 700 yards with 140gr VLDs in winds gusting from 15 to 20 mph. I probably couldn't do that again in a million years, but it was still pretty cool.

There isn't much to dislike about any 6.5 bullet, they all seem to fly and hit harder than they should and are almost always stupid accurate.
